DIY Photo String Wall Decoration
Want to personalize the bare gray walls of your college dorm room? Try this easy, affordable, shabby chic DIY that covers as much space as you desire!
Materials:
- Command Clear Hooks ($8.99)
- Twine of any kind ($5.85)
- Miniature Clothes Pins ($3.35)
- Personalized Photo Prints - High Quality 4x6 Prints here ($0.09/photo)
Grand total (30 photos)- $20.89, with enough Command Clear Hooks and Twine left over to recreate in an additional room (or 2)!
For my Photo String Wall I used six Command Clear Hooks to make three strings of ten photos. I made sure each string of twine was the same length, and tied each end of the twine to the hook of a Command Clear Hook. I did all of my measuring and placement without a ruler or marker, I just used my judgement and a friend's to make sure it was not crooked. The wall next to my bed seemed very bare, so that is where I hung my Photo String wall. I had this up in my dorm room from September to the end of April and it did not once fall!
Try to use odd numbers of strings, and switch up the orientation of the photos (Landscape-Portrait-Landscape, etc.) to add some visual interest. This is really easy to change up throughout the year as you make new memories!
